You don’t go to the gym once and declare yourself fit do you? You build up physical fitness over a period of time and maintain it regularly with continuous exercise. The same applies to mental strength but it is amazing how many players think that a single session of mental training will get their minds ‘sorted out’. Whilst you certainly experience an immediate and usually quite dramatic benefit from the first session using my methods it is important to note that it is only a beginning. A tiny glimpse of fabulous future possibilities demonstrating clearly how regular mind-strengthening methods will transport you into new realms of achievement beyond your wildest dreams. In fact, it should be continually stated until indelibly emblazoned on the mind of all athletes and coaches that in the same way players undertake physical training every day to get their bodies in top physical shape, they should also undertake mental training every day to get their minds in top mental shape. There, I’ve said it again. And by the way, I am not talking about sports psychology. When I say mental training, I refer to my mental training method, well proven for well over twenty years and supersonic compared to so-called sports psychology. I know football managers and others in the game find this hard to believe. But ask yourself this. Why would I be saying this if it weren’t true? Surely I’d be found out pretty fast wouldn’t I. Well not so far. In twenty-three years of doing this work and developing the best method available for being in top mental shape, I have never had a single complaint about its effectiveness. Only happy clients. If you continue doing only what you’ve always done, not much will change and you will be stuck as fast as super glue. To achieve what you have never achieved you need to do what you have never done. It is important to realise that this is the way forward in the modern game and that regular mental training provides the vital element which is the difference between success and failure. Now that you know this, can you really afford to ignore it? Watch out for more articles containing vitally important information for footballers from top football mind coach, Peter Gilmour
